Bruce Gunderson founded Grass Hopper, Inc. on February 15, 1986. Shortly after Bruce received his Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Houston was going through a recession. In order to earn a better income during these slow economic times, Bruce started what he thought would be a temporary lawn maintenance company. He chose the name Grass Hopper, Inc. because he wanted an easy name to remember which was also somewhat descriptive of a mobile lawn service. Though his initial intention was to keep his business for a short period of time, his customer base kept growing and he realized how much he enjoyed working with nature. As time went on, Bruce attended several classes to expand his services and improve the quality of his workmanship. He wanted to challenge himself with new ideas for enhancing his landscapes and cultivate his creativity at the same time. Eventually, he transitioned from being a lawn maintenance company to becoming the pioneer in the Clear Lake area for offering a combination of complete landscape and hardscape services. Bruce has enjoyed the excitement of transforming backyards into beautiful outdoor areas which represent the unique lifestyle of each of his customers. Grass Hopper, Inc.'s goal is to serve customers with integrity and respect while delivering absolute beauty and quality craftsmanship.
